Late Afternoon Townhouse Fire

July 14 – Rescue Squad 741 was dispatched at 1650 hours to 7809 Archbold Terrace in Cabin John for fire in a town house.  First arriving Engine 710, from Cabin John reported fire showing from the second story of an end unit townhouse and attic upon arrival. 

As the Rescue Squad approached the scene, it could see a column of smoke in the distance.  However, Engine 710 reported that the fire had been knocked down as the Squad arrived.  Although there was limited active fire, the crew was put to work pulling walls and ceiling, where it found considerable heat and smoke.  The incident commander then dispatched the crew to the roof for overhaul there, where they searched the entire roofline for any residual fire.
