At 6:50 p.m. RS741B, M741, M741D, and Chief 741C responded to an overturned car on the River Road ramp onto the Beltway. The crew from RS741B cut the trapped driver from the vehicle while the two BCCRS medics on M741 split up and treated the two priority one unconscious patients ejected from the vehicle. Care of the second patient was assumed by M741D, and both patients were quickly packaged and transported to a local trauma center. Two additional patients were able to climb out of the vehicle on their own. A secondary collision occurred near the original incident, with one additional patient needing transport. Units from Cabin John, Glen Echo, and Fairfax transported the other four patients, with three of them being traumas. Incident command was handled by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief 702.
